Laboratory staff from around Australia had the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the importance of wheat quality for noodles recently.
The Grains Australia Wheat Laboratory Proficiency Program helps to underpin Australia’s world-class wheat classification system.
The session at AEGIC’s Sydney labs in June brought lab staff from around Australia that participate in the program to learn more about the specific quality aspects that make Australian wheat varieties so good for noodles.
To ensure that wheat varieties are appropriately evaluated and classified, samples submitted for evaluation must be tested using standard protocols and meet quality requirements, as set out in the Grains Australia classification guidelines.
All laboratories that contribute to data utilised in the wheat varietal applications are required to participate in the Grains Australia Wheat Laboratory Proficiency Program.
AEGIC works closely with Grains Australia as a delivery partner for its market insights and market education services and is proud to support Australia’s wheat classification system.
AEGIC’s training and education services are highly sought after. Our courses give grains industry participants the edge when it comes to understanding how wheat quality, flour milling and commercial baking processes affect end-product quality — crucial knowledge for grain traders, marketers, breeders and anyone else working in the grains industry.
AEGIC is an initiative of the Western Australian State Government and Grains Australia.
