Sabrina Lim is an expert Food Scientist at AEGIC, specialising in baking.

Sabrina’s role involves managing AEGIC’s sought-after Commercial Baking: The Basics training course and coordinating the LA Judge Award for Baking Apprentice of the Year. She is also closely involved in various AEGIC research programs, using her expertise to conduct test baking for bread, cakes, cookies and whole grain products.

Sabrina also serves as Company Secretary for Australia’s Grains & Legumes Nutrition Council (GLNC).

Sabrina’s journey into the Australian grains industry began at the University of New South Wales where she achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition. After coming to AEGIC straight from university seven years ago, Sabrina has had the opportunity to grow and develop her skills and has established herself as a popular and highly-valued member of the AEGIC team.

Sabrina’s favourite aspect of her AEGIC role is training other baking and grains industry professionals. The opportunity to pass on the knowledge she has gained in her time with AEGIC to help others is something she finds extremely rewarding.

For Sabrina, increasing value in the Australian grains industry means communicating the benefits of Australian grains to customers throughout the supply chain and seeking opportunities to highlight the versatility of Australian grains. Her involvement in various projects that explore these various opportunities makes her excited for the future of the industry, such as demonstrating the benefits of Australian wheat for whole grain products, conducting Australian soft wheat cake and cookie testing, and more.

Outside of her professional life, Sabrina enjoys travelling, immersing herself in different cultures, and binging TV shows. As a Sydney native, Sabrina loves going on coastal walks and bushwalks.

Sabrina Lim’s dedication to her role at AEGIC, combined with her passion for knowledge sharing and exploration, makes her a valuable contributor to the Australian grains industry.

AEGIC is an initiative of the Western Australian State Government and Grains Australia.
