AEGIC has a long history of helping nurture the next generation of agriculture and grain science students from Australia and around the world. We regularly host university and school groups to showcase Australia’s world-leading expertise in grain science and market insights.

Students from the Korea’s Agricultural Cooperative University spent time at AEGIC’s Sydney laboratories in January 2025 to learn about Australia’s grains industry and the importance of wheat and grain quality.

AEGIC was high on the group’s list of facilities to visit during their study tour.

The students visited AEGIC’s Pilot Bakery, Pilot Mill and Analytical Labs to develop a deeper understanding of how the Australian grains industry operates, and how AEGIC helps ensure Australian grain remains a top choice in international markets.

The group highly appreciated the visit:

“It was an incredible experience for the students to visit your esteemed organization and gain valuable insights into the industry in Australia. Your detailed explanations and engaging presentation made it much easier for the students to understand AEGIC’s role and its impact. They found the session both informative and inspiring, and it left a lasting impression on them. We truly appreciate the time and effort you dedicated to making this visit a success. Opportunities like these are invaluable for students, and we hope to collaborate again in the future for similar events.”

Korea is a large market for Australian wheat. On average, Korea imports about 1.5mmt of Australian wheat each year, worth $677m (average 2019-2023: ABS).
