Sean Cowman takes up role with AEGIC as Markets Manager – South East Asia

Sean Cowman has joined the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) as Markets Manager – South East Asia.

Sean has significant experience in a range of senior roles at CBH Group, most recently as Marketing Manager – International. Prior to this, Sean represented Australian agriculture and food in various sales, marketing and business development roles in markets in Asia and the Middle East.

Sean will be a central cog in AEGIC’s team of market experts and will build on AEGIC’s previous achievements in South East Asia.

“I’m delighted to join AEGIC and look forward to contributing to the development and success of the Australian grains industry,” he said.

“International markets and customers are critical to our industry. I have had the privilege of representing Australian growers and their grain in international market for a number of years and I look forward, with AEGIC,  to continuing to support the grains industry and Australian grain growers.”

AEGIC CEO Richard Simonaitis said Sean was a valuable addition to the AEGIC team.

“Sean’s extensive grain marketing experience will provide AEGIC with considerable expertise and capability in identifying value for the industry and acting on opportunities in South East Asia,” he said.

Sean Cowman has performed a range of senior roles with Australia’s biggest grain exporter – CBH Group.

As CBH Marketing Manager – International, Sean managed CBH’s international marketing team; including offices in Japan & Hong Kong.

Earlier in his career, Sean spent a number of years with Kailis & France Foods, managing export sales into Asia and the Middle East. He has also worked with Japanese trading company Marubeni Australia, based in Perth.
